OPPORTUNITY
Tread Corporation, a world leading equipment supplier to the domestic and international explosives industry is seeking to add a heavy equipment mechanic to its new custom assembly and rebuild department. This position will involve analyzing malfunctions, repairing, rebuilding, and assembling custom heavy equipment similar to cranes, pavers, bulldozers, trench digging machines, dredges, pumps, compressors, and pneumatic tools. This individual will operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects, dismantle and assemble equipment, examine parts for damage or excessive wear, install pumps and subassemblies, and tests equipment to insure operation. This individual will use hoists/cranes and hand tools extensively.

Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
Operation and Control
Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Mechanical
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Hydraulic and Pneumatic
Knowledge of high-pressure liquid or gas systems controlled directly or automatically by control valves and distributed through hoses and tubes to power motors and cylinders.
Basic Electronics
Basic knowledge electronic system function and components (PCB, resistor, capacitor, etc.).
Engineering Drawings
Ability to read, understand engineering drawings.
Production and Processing
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture of goods.
Responsibilities:
Analyzing heavy machinery malfunctions.
Repairing, rebuilding, and assembling heavy machinery.
Assembling both large systems and smaller sub-systems.
Examining parts for damage or excessive wear.
Installing hydraulic and pneumatic pumps and hoses.
Testing equipment to insure operation.
Using hoists/cranes and hand tools extensively.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma
3-5 years of relevant work experience as mechanic with heavy equipment/machinery.
Associate or Vocational Degrees Preferred
