School Brochure 2008This course begins with an introduction to Treadbed bulk trucks and an overview of the different types and sizes of bodies. The course focuses on the systems that are used on Treadbed bulk trucks for transportation, conveying, pumping, and blending. Current production designs will be covered with additional information provided as requested for operators of older equipment. Course emphasis is on function, operation, safety, and daily maintenance, on the spot troubleshooting and simple repairs. The course consists of a combination of group lecture sessions with smaller breakout sessions for case studies.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
Upon completion of this course the student should be able to:Understand the function and operation of standard bulk truck systems.
Understand proper safety procedures for each bulk truck system.
Perform daily inspections and routine maintenance on bulk truck equipment.
Perform troubleshooting and simple repairs of a bulk truck.
Calibrate bulk truck augers and pumps.
